3-4 ODD
INTRODUCTION:
As we embark on our journey in Madden 19 we start with an LB heavy formation, 3-4 odd. We figured the best way to start playing any new Madden is to learn the basics of coverage, run defense, and blitzing and this formation allows us to do all 3. What is nice and utilized here as well is that the formation is visually symmetrical, and we use it to our advantage.
Below you will find each play with its own section laid out within tabs. When possible we will also go over an advanced strategy that may require more adjustments, a complete understanding of the formation, or quicker fingers to complete the play. Make sure to learn the entire body of content to ensure that your defense is starting to lockdown.

Lock it upDefense this year is definitely different than last year, so we need to attack it differently. Sitting in the same coverage shell all game? Nope. Sitting in a DB heavy formation regardless of what your opponent is doing? Nope. Thats why we start here in 34 odd to give you an excellent base to get your feet wet in Madden 19. We have included multiple ways to play defense and we suggest using them to be successful.

In this group of tabs we will go over base plays that can include passive blitzing. Passive blitzing is where we set something up that is either inconsistent or easy to block. We do this because it allows to be in a variety of coverages while not sacrificing the ability to get some heat.

In this group of tabs we will go over plays using our tight look in the formation. This allows us to use any of these plays to create pressure or drop 8 into coverage. Mixing these all together is key for this working to its maximum potential.
